Careers
When we talk about a ‘Career’, we don’t just mean work or a job – it is much more than that. Career is the red thread through your life that brings together learning, interests, skills and work. It is about the progress you make, the skills you learn, the knowledge you acquire and the decisions you make throughout your life. Here at Thomas Mills High School, we want to support you in that journey through various activities and events as well as personal guidance. We want to inspire and prepare you in the best way possible for your life after Thomas Mills and your future.
If you would like to know more about the things we do to achieve this, please take a look at our Careers Programme and join us for our Careers Events:

If you would like to talk to someone, please come and see Mrs Treeby or Mrs Bull in the Careers area of the library (upstairs). You can also speak to your tutor or subject teachers. We will all do our best to support you.

Work Experience
In the summer term of Year 10, you will get the chance to experience a workplace firsthand. This will give you a general insight into the world beyond school. You will be able to use and improve various skills that are useful in school as well as in work and life. Mrs Bull will assist and support you in finding a suitable placement and how to apply, guide you through your placement and also liaise with employers and parents to make this a successful experience.
