The Friends of Thomas Mills High School
The Friends of Thomas Mills High school was originally set up as a committee in 1979. We are a group of parents who actively support the work of the school, with the help of senior staff, by fundraising throughout the year. All parents, teachers and former students are eligible to become members. Former staff and members of the local community are also eligible to join if they so wish.
A Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting which is held early in the Autumn term. Anyone interested may join the committee subject to election at the meeting. We are always looking for new parents to join our friendly team of parents and staff, if you are interested in joining us in September please let us know as we are always looking for new parents to join the committee. There are usually two committee meetings a term, which are usually held on a Monday night at 6.15pm at the school.
The Friends provide general assistance with school activities and organise a variety of fundraising events during the school year. Past achievements have included an art room extension in 2002, £20,000 towards provision of an accessible minibus in 2004, £10,000 towards new ICT classrooms and more recently in 2010, £10,000 towards the new language block, which were named the David Floyd Rooms, £25,000+ for a further new minibus 2012.

Other ways parents can help include volunteering with the Friends at events, donating food for the food rota which is served at fund raising events and donating uniform for the second hand uniform service we offer to parents. If you feel you could help with any of these or would like further information on how to get involved, please contact the school office on 01728 723493 or email me at the address below.
